So you've started adding content to your Virtual Results site. That's fantastic! But now you are wondering why your new Pages or Posts (Communities, Associates, Testimonials or Listings) aren't showing up on your Menu (also called the Navbar).
Read below for step-by-step instructions on how to Add New Items to Your Menu.
Accessing Your Edit Menu Screen:
Log in to your site dashboard.
Scroll down to the Site Settings Tab, and select Menu.
This will take you to the Edit Menu screen of your dashboard. See here.
There are two ways to add items to your menu: adding pages and adding custom links.
Adding Pages:
After you have created a new page, it will appear in the Pages List on the left side of the screen. Select the Page (or pages) you would like to add to your Menu, then select Add to Menu. The page(s) you select will appear at the bottom of your menu (See here). Select Save Menu.
Adding Custom Links:
If you have created a new Post Type (Communities, Associates, Testimonials, or Listings), the process of adding it to the menu is a little different. Above the Pages List on the left side of the screen, you will see an option to create a Custom Link. Open up the new Post Type you've created in another tab. Copy and paste the portion of the URL after your domain name. This is called the URL Path (See here).
Once you have the URL Path, the rest is easy. Paste the URL Path into the URL field in the Custom Links section (paste over the "http://", you do not need it). In the Labels field, title your menu item and select Add to Menu. The new item will appear at the bottom of your menu (See here).Select Save Menu.
Changing the Order of your Menu
Changing the order of your menu is easy. All you need to do is click and drag each menu item into the order you want. Then select Save Menu.
Creating Submenus
Once you have added items to your Menu, you can change them to a submenu item. This is also very easy. Click and drag your menu item directly beneath the item you want it to be a submenu to. Then click and drag it inward, so it become indented (See here). Then select Save Menu.
